Purple Flower Wedding Cake


This wedding cake was made for my neighbor.  It was the first wedding cake I ever made and it turned out amazing.  Absolutely breathtaking.  I hear it tasted good too!  It was a two layer lemon cake with raspberry icing piped into each layer and decorated with white buttercream icing.  The color looks yellow, but that is the color of  the picture due to lighting. The layers were separated with plastic plates to provide a stable base for the columns.  The florist did the flowers thank goodness because I am hopeless with flower arrangements.  The final cost of this cake was:

Icing: $3.55 x 5= $17.75
Cake: $2.81 x 6= $16.86
Jelly: $3
Supplies (boards, tiers): $23.48
Wrapping: $4.88
Labor: 7.50 x 5 = $37.50
Total: $103.47
