Lego Batman Cake

I have one regular client who loves to stretch my creative talents and this year she chose a Lego Batman cake for her four year old little boy.  I love a challenge, so instead of just making a Batman cake, I tried to make him look at much like a Lego as possible.  I built out the feet in blocks just like on the actual Lego Batman and contoured the helmet so the eyes and mouth look like they are protected by the helmet.  I also dug out the cape so it looked like the cape was literally behind Batman’s body.  This cake was really hard to make, but way fun and the little boy’s face when he saw his cake was just priceless!

 

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 3.25 = $8.29 (1 navy, 1 light gray, .25 blue, .25 black, .25 brown, .25 dark gray, .25 peach)

Number 1 Smash Cake

I made this smash cake for a little boy’s first birthday party!  It was cut from a 9x13 yellow cake and decorated with blue, yellow, red, and green buttercream icing to match the party decorations.

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2.5 = $6.38 (1 blue, .5 green, .5 red, .5 yellow)
Chocolate Cake: $1.93
Wrapping and Plating: $3.88 (I took a dollar off since I used one of my plastic green platters instead of a cake board.)
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 2.5 = $15

Total : $27.19

Baby Shower Champagne Cupcakes

These were also made for a good friend’s baby shower.  There were 12 yellow cupcakes and 12 chocolate cupcakes all decorated with light and dark blue buttercream icing.  The champagne flutes were filled with yellow and blue M&Ms for the yellow cupcakes and brown and blue M&Ms for the chocolate cupcakes.  These were more expensive than the other champagne cupcakes on this blog because I provided the M&Ms and champagne flutes instead of the client. 

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2 = $5.10 (1 light blue and 1 dark blue)
Yellow and Chocolate Cakes: $1.93 (12 cupcakes of each is 1/2 batch of each type of cake)

Labor: $6.00 per hour x 2.25 hrs = $13.50
Champagne Flutes: $4.20
M&Ms: $1.50 x 3 = $4.50 (blue, yellow, and brown)
Foils: $1.50
Total: $30.73

Baby Shower Big Cookie

I made this big cookie for a good friend’s baby shower.  It was made with milk chocolate chips, and decorated with dark and light blue buttercream icing. 

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 (.5 dark blue, .5 light blue)

Cookie: $5.72
Wrapping and Plating: $1.05
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 2 = $12

Elmo 9x13 Cake

This cake was made for a very special little girl’s third birthday.  Unfortunately, she got sick and never got to see it, but I thought I would include it on the blog anyway.  It is a yellow 9x13 cake decorated with red, orange, white, and black buttercream icing

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2.25 = $5.74 (.5 orange, .5 red, 1 white, .25 black)
Yellow Cake: $1.93
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88

Labor: $6.00 per hour x 3 = $18

Butterfly Cake

This butterfly cake was cut out of a yellow sheet cake for a little girl’s first birthday party and decorated with purple, pink, green, orange, yellow, and blue buttercream icing.  The antenna are pink Twizzlers.  The cake fed about 36 people easily and cost the following:

Icing: $2.55 x 3 = $7.65 (1 purple, .5 pink, .5 green, .5 orange, .25 yellow, .25 blue)
Cake: $1.93 x 2 = $3.86
Wrapping: $4.88
Candy: $.30
Work: $6 x 3.5 = $21
Subtotal: $37.69

Cookie Monster Big Cookie

What’s a Cookie Monster Party without a big cookie?  Instead of a cake for this little boy’s birthday I did a giant cookie.  These are made and decorated within 24 hours of the party to keep the cookie fresh.
