Lego Robin Cake

This cake was made for a little boy’s fourth birthday who loves superheroes almost as much as he loves Legos!  This chocolate sheet cake is covered with red, green, yellow, peach, white, and black buttercream icing, but what I think makes it really special are the details.  I cut back the cape so Robin stood out, and to provide the illusion the cape is behind Robin.  I also flat iced the skin as well as the cape while staring or drawing on the other details to give the cake some different textures, and to make Robin’s suit look like it is a costume separate from his body.  Finally, I think Robin has really cool hair, but it’s hard to get the right crazy wave with buttercream icing.  To remedy this, I put as much wave into the hair as I could and spiked the rest.  It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but the hair is my favorite part. The final cost of this cake is below:

Icing: $3.55 x 3.5 = $12.43

Chocolate Dream

This two layer chocolate cake has is layered with and covered with chocolate buttercream icing.  This is why I named it chocolate dream.  It smelled absolutely wonderful while baking!  The final cost for this cake is:

Wrapping: $4.88

Labor: $7.50 x 2 = $15

Hello Kitty Cake

This Hello Kitty cake was made for a little girl’s third birthday who just loves to be girly, so I went over the top with pink.  The 9x13” yellow cake was decorated with black, white, yellow, light pink, and hot pink buttercream icing.  My favorite part of cake making is seeing the surprise and delight on the children’s faces when they see their cakes.  It is truly a blessing.

The final price for this cake was:

Icing: $3.55 x 2 = $7.10

Labor: $7.50 x 2.5 = $18.75

Big Cookie with Peanut Butter and Chocolate Buttercream Icing

My husband loves cake, but he loves big chocolate chip cookies more.  I make him one every year for his birthday and this year he wanted peanut butter and chocolate buttercream icing for decoration.  Delicious!  I didn’t price this order out since it was for my family, but if you are interested, please email me and I will work up an estimate.

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

My son also loves Mickey Mouse, so I made these cupcakes for his birthday party at preschool.  I wanted something simple and not messy so the teachers wouldn’t have a ton of clean up to do which is why the primary color is white and there is no black icing anywhere.  These cupcakes were made of yellow cake with yellow, red, green, and blue buttercream icing. Dinosaur Cake and Cupcakes

My son LOVES dinosaurs, so for his 4^th birthday party we had a dinosaur theme.  He wanted a T-Rex cake, which he decided could also have been a Yangchuanosaurus cake, in green, orange, and blue icing.  Since I’m the cake lady, he got what he asked for.  He also loves the Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Pterodactyl, so those became his cupcakes.  He didn’t know I was making the cupcakes and got so excited!  It was a joy to see!  The cake and cupcakes are made of yellow cake with orange, blue, green, yellow, and white buttercream icing.  I didn’t price this order out since it was for my family, but if you are interested, please email me and I will work up an estimate.
