Cookie Monster Big Cookie

What’s a Cookie Monster Party without a big cookie?  Instead of a cake for this little boy’s birthday I did a giant cookie.  These are made and decorated within 24 hours of the party to keep the cookie fresh.

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 1.25 = $3.19 (.5 blue, .5 white, .25 black)
Cookie: $5.72
Wrapping and Plating: $1.05
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 2 = $12
Total: $21.96

Cookie Monster and Elmo 9x13 Cake

I made this cake for a little boy's second birthday who likes Elmo and Cookie Monster.  The cake was simple and for family only, so it wasn't meant to be the shining star of a party!

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2.25 = $5.74 (.5 blue, .5 red, 1 white, orange is free, .25 black)
Yellow Cake: $1.93
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 3 = $18
Total: $30.55

Train Cake

This cake was a lot of fun to make!  The engine is a yellow cake with blue, white, black, yellow, and red buttercream icing while the cars are chocolate cake covered in the same icing.  The engine was cut out of a 9x13 cake and the cars are each half of a 9x13 cake.  I used Raisinets as the coal, Twix as the lumber, and hooked the trains together with Twizzlers.  This cake easily fed more than 40 people.

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 3 = $7.65 (1 blue, .5 black, .5 white and red, 1 yellow)
Yellow and Chocolate Cake: $1.93 x 2 = $3.86
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88
Candy (Twizzlers, Raisinets, and Twix): $3.46
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 6 = $36
Subtotal: $55.15
