Train Cake

This cake was a lot of fun to make!  The engine is a yellow cake with blue, white, black, yellow, and red buttercream icing while the cars are chocolate cake covered in the same icing.  The engine was cut out of a 9x13 cake and the cars are each half of a 9x13 cake.  I used Raisinets as the coal, Twix as the lumber, and hooked the trains together with Twizzlers.  This cake easily fed more than 40 people.

Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 3 = $7.65 (1 blue, .5 black, .5 white and red, 1 yellow)
Yellow and Chocolate Cake: $1.93 x 2 = $3.86
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88
Candy (Twizzlers, Raisinets, and Twix): $3.46
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 6 = $36
Subtotal: $55.15
