I love it when clients say, "I have a birthday coming
up, and I need a cake.
Surprise me"
because it gives me a chance to be creative and make "grown up"
cakes.
This two layer yellow cake is
filled with strawberry jelly between the layers, and covered with strawberry
buttercream icing.
I decorated it with
strawberry buttercream rosettes and fresh strawberries.
I even put the cake in the freezer for a bit
to give the strawberries a frosted look so their skin matched the icing color
and the red interior stood out more.
This cake was simply beautiful.
The
final cost of this cake was:
Icing: $3.55
Cake: $2.81
Jelly: $2.30
Strawberries: 2.63
Wrapping: $4.88
Labor: $7.50 x 2 = $15
Final Price: $31.17
