My son turned 5 this year with a pirate themed birthday
party, so I of course had to make a pirate ship cake! It was a 3D pirate ship made from yellow cake
and decorated with chocolate, yellow, red, black, blue, and green buttercream
icing. The really special parts about
this cake were the details. I tried to
make the ship look wooden, I included tick-tock crock following the ship, found
plastic pirates to board the ship, made the plank from a Hershey bar, and the
main mast is a pretzel with a pirate flag.
It was a pretty special cake. If
