The Olympics are a time of huge celebration in our house. During the 2012 London Summer Olympics, some of our best friends happened to be in town with their two children. It was beautiful outside, so the children constructed their own version of the games for us all to participate. The fun and hilarity ensued creating such memories that we are hosting the first ever Winter Olympic games with these same friends. In honor of this super fun event, I made an 8" round yellow cake decorated with blue, black, red, yellow, and green buttercream icing. I'm thinking the girls are going to rule the ice dancing this year!

Olympic Winter Games Cake
The Olympics are a time of huge celebration in our house. During the 2012 London Summer Olympics, some of our best friends happened to be in town with their two children. It was beautiful outside, so the children constructed their own version of the games for us all to participate. The fun and hilarity ensued creating such memories that we are hosting the first ever Winter Olympic games with these same friends. In honor of this super fun event, I made an 8" round yellow cake decorated with blue, black, red, yellow, and green buttercream icing. I'm thinking the girls are going to rule the ice dancing this year!
Super Bowl Party Cupcakes
We hosted a Super Bowl party at our house this year and I
made these cupcakes as the edible center piece on our dining room table. They are yellow cake cupcakes decorated with
white and chocolate buttercream icing.
When I whipped up the white icing the forecast was still calling for
snow in New Jersey,
so I thought it would be funny to have the base of the cupcakes white instead
of green like a football field. Guess
what... no snow! Joke's on me I
guess! Since I made these for my own
party, I didn't create a price for them; however, if these are of interest,
please email me and I will create an estimate!
Baby Boy Cupcakes
A good friend of mine just had a baby boy, so I made these baby
boy themed cupcakes to celebrate the good news!
They are yellow cake cupcakes decorated with light blue, chocolate, and
white buttercream icing. The baby themes
I chose were a teddy bear, heart, stripes, "baby," "boy,"
and the infant's new monogram. Perfect
to celebrate a new life!
Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 3 = $7.65
Yellow Cakes: $1.93 x 1.5 = $2.90
Foils: $3
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 3.5= $21
Total: $34.55
Flower Cupcake Cake
This flower cupcake cake was baked for a little girl's third
birthday who just loves being girly! It
has four flowers made of six yellow cupcakes each and decorated with purple,
pink, yellow, and light blue buttercream icing.
The center cupcakes have yellow foils, and the pedal cupcakes have green
foils since these flowers have no leaves.
I wrote the birthday message in swirly green buttercream icing to look
like stems and vines sort of. The final
cost for this cupcake cake was:
Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2 = $5.10
Foils: $2
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 2.25 = $13.50
Total: $22.53
Rainbow Cupcakes
I have one friend who must troll the internet for fun
birthday ideas because she always places the most creative orders. This year her baby girl turned seven and I
was asked to make these rainbow cupcakes!
They are yellow cake cupcakes with light blue buttercream icing, sour
patch rainbow stripes, and white buttercream clouds for decoration. I always like the birthday child's cupcake to
be different, so this time the birthday girl got a pot of gold by her
rainbow. My friend provided the sour
patch rainbow stripes and the cupcake foils, so the price below accounts for
those deductions. Super Fun!
Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 1.5 = $3.83
Yellow Cakes: $1.93 x 2.5 = $4.83
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 4.5 = $27
Total: $35.66

School Bus Cake
This school bus cake is a yellow cake cut from a 9x13"
pan I decorated for a little boy's second birthday. It is decorated in yellow, white, orange,
red, and black buttercream icing. I think
the details are what make this cake special.
The lights, stop sign, window panes, windshield wipers, tire tread, #2
bus number, side mirrors, grates, and naming the bus after the birthday boy are
all the little things I do just to make the cake recognizable to a small
child. The final price for this school
but was:
Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 2 = $5.10
Yellow Cake: $1.93
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 3 = $18
Total : $29.91

Batman and Superman Cakes and Justice League Cupcakes

One of my best friend's little boys is obsessed with
superheroes, so we went all out with the Justice League for his third
birthday! I did some research on the
Justice League and found the logos on the cupcakes seen below. I knew Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman,
Aquaman, the Green Lantern, and the Flash, but I had no idea who was
represented by the red "x." It
turned out the parents didn't know either!
This little boy had two parties, so for his actual birthday I made the
Batman cake out of yellow cake with black and yellow buttercream icing. The friend party used the Superman cake and
all the Justice League cupcakes. Yellow
cake with red, blue, and yellow buttercream icing made up the Superman cake,
while yellow cake with yellow, black, chocolate, red, gold, green, and white
buttercream icing decorated the Justice League cupcakes. This was one of my favorite cake projects so
far because the colors were so vibrant!
See below for the total cost:
Buttercream Icing per Batch: $2.55 x 5.5 = $14.03
2 Yellow 8" Cakes and 36 Yellow Cupcakes: $1.93 x 2.5 =
$4.83
Foils: $5
Wrapping and Plating: $4.88
Labor: $6.00 per hour x 6= $36
