Owl Cake

I free handed this 9"x13" yellow cake for a client who loves owls.  I have to say the eyes were by far the most fun to make.  The owl is decorated with yellow, orange, white, chocolate, and light blue buttercream icing and is supposed to look like its wings are tucked up into its body.  The final cost of this cake was
Icing: $3.55 x 2.25 = $7.99
Cake: $2.81
Wrapping: $4.88
Labor: $7.50 x 2.75 = $20.63
Total: $36.31

Chocolate Raspberry Jelly Cake

I made this cake for a friend who loves chocolate and raspberries.  It is two layer 8" round chocolate cake with raspberry jelly layered in the middle.  The icing is raspberry buttercream.  I do not usually comment on my personal tastes on this blog, but this raspberry buttercream icing is amazing. The final cost of this cake was:
Icing: $3.55
Cake: $2.81
Jelly: $2.30
Wrapping: $4.88
Labor: $7.50 x 2 = $15
Total: $28.54

Baby Shower Dinosaur Cake

We had a dinosaur baby shower for one of my husband's coworkers, and this is the cake I made.  It is a 9"x13" yellow cake with chocolate, green, gray, and white buttercream icing.  I loved making this cake because I got to draw the big Daddy Dinosaur footprints and the medium sized Mommy Dinosaur footprints walking in a fairly straight line, while the baby dinosaur footprints are all over the place.  Just like children walk!  If you are interested in the cost of this cake, please email me.
